We're creating a high-end USB peripheral device, roughly the size of a USB thumb drive. We need someone to own everything between "we have a design" and "it's on a customer's doorstep" — and to do it cheaply, reliably, and without hand-holding.
You'll orchestrate the entire production pipeline. That means sourcing and outsourcing the right partners, coordinating design and packaging, managing those relationships directly, relentlessly optimizing cost, and owning kitting and fulfillment end to end. If something has to get made, assembled, or shipped, it's yours.
This is a conductor role. You won't do every task yourself — you'll find the right people and shops, negotiate good deals, hold them to deadlines and quality, and keep the whole thing moving. You're the single point of accountability for the product getting built and delivered at the right cost.
We're looking for someone resourceful and frugal by instinct. Someone who treats every dollar of cost like it's their own, who knows when to outsource versus do it in-house, and who can build a kitting and fulfillment process that scales without breaking. Reports directly to the CEO.
This role is built around the value you create. The more cost you take out and the more reliably you ship, the more you earn — your upside is tied directly to the efficiency of the operation you run. If you make us lean, we scale together.
What we're looking for
- Experience bringing a physical product from design to delivery
- Sourcing and vendor management — finding partners, negotiating, holding them accountable
- A real instinct for cost optimization (COGS, freight, packaging, labor)
- Experience coordinating design and packaging with external partners
- Experience with kitting, assembly, and fulfillment — or the resourcefulness to build it from scratch
- Comfortable managing multiple vendor relationships at once without dropping balls
- Self-directed. This isn't a managed role with daily check-ins.
- Data-literate — you can track cost, lead times, and quality and make decisions from them
- Bonus: consumer hardware or electronics manufacturing experience
- Bonus: experience with 3PLs, warehousing, or e-commerce fulfillment
- Bonus: domestic (USA) manufacturing and supply chain relationships
